SDI Latvia, with the support of the Latvian Security and Defence Cluster (DAK), awarded researchers with the “Defence Industry Annual Award in Education and Science” for the second time. The cross-sectoral panel examined the best 2019 jobs of education and research institutions. Special attention has been paid to 4 studies that are particularly important for Latvia's defence sector, for the development of military research and industry. The canditdates were nominated between November 2019 and March 2020.
The 1st place and the 1500 euro prize is obtained by the lead researcher of the Military Medical Research and Studies Centre of Riga Stradina University, Prof. Māris Taube
, on the study on “Leadership Tools for the Prevention of Suicides”.
The 2nd place and the 1000 euro prize is obtained by the researcher of the Military Medical Research and Studies Centre of Riga Stradina University, Dr Darja Ņesteroviča
, young scientist on the study “Biomechanical aspects of wearing military footwear and their association with lower limb congestion injuries”.
The 3rd place and €500 euro prize is shared by researchers from the Institute for Electronics and Computer Sciences (EDI), Mg. sc. ing. Gatis Šūpols and Mg. sc. comp. Gatis Gaigals
, on the study “Radio Frequency Scanner (ANTE)” carried out in cooperation with a company “DATA Group”.
